D’s Trees really listens to what the customer wants and ensures you’re both on the same page. The estimates are very reasonable, far less than what competitors had quoted when we first made inquiries years ago. We’ve used Doug and his team on three separate occasions and wouldn’t consider using anyone else—Doug is a certified arborist and really knows his trees, as does his family. They have extremely good equipment, and a lot of it. They are very capable of handling super large oaks and palm trees. I got multiple quotes on removing several large oak trees from my property. D’s Trees was not the cheapest, nor anywhere near the highest bid. I decided to go with D’s Trees. And boy, I was glad I did! When Doug came by to give an estimate, he told me how he was going to remove the trees and what equipment he was going to use. He is very knowledgeable, professional, and to the point. No high pressure sales to get the job. He and his crew showed up on time and started work right away. [My] neighbors [and I] were very impressed with the professionalism of the crew, the proper safety equipment they wore, at all times, and their work ethic. They worked non-stop, and we’re constantly cleaning up as the work progressed. And when the job was complete, I even canceled my lawn service that week because they did such a good job of cleaning up. What I thought was going to be a two-day job only took them one day to complete. If you are considering tree removal or pruning, hands down this is the company you want. Truly a family-owned, all-American company!!

I recently called D’s Trees to discuss options to remove 17 trees in my small backyard. Doug was able to come out to my home quickly to discuss options. He explained how he and his crew would remove the trees, what safety precautions would be taken, how it would be beneficial if he could access my back yard through my neighbors yard, and he explained his certifications and the different types of insurance he carries. My neighbor was agreeable to allow us access to his yard and D’s Trees spoke to him about his approach and the precautions he would take to protect his yard. The day of the job they arrived as scheduled. Everyone was dressed well and in safety gear. All men worked consistently and efficiently. I expected the debris to create a mess while they worked to clear the land but that was never the case. The backyard was neat and debris was cleared as the trees came down. These men worked all day long! Doug followed up to ensure I was satisfied. We talked about future projects and he provided different options of what could be done—but not in a high pressure way. He simply answered the questions I had. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the job. They have the experience, education, equipment, professionalism, and courtesy to do a great job. It might be the easiest check I’ve ever written for home improvements. Couldn’t recommend them more.

Our (me and my dad Michael) experience working with D’s Trees was great from beginning to end. From the bid, which was the best deal out of the 3 bids I got, to doing the job and working with us on the different details which we were asking them to help us with, in regards to our tree work. They took down three huge sweet gum trees at our house, ground down the stumps, cleaned up what little mess they made, swept off our roof (and the neighbor’s roof) and were out of here in three hours! Top quality work at a reasonable price. I have used numerous other companies over ther years. By far the best. On time, knowledgeable, clean and VERY professional. Showed up like a new branch of the military. Matching uniforms. Full helmets with built-in mikes for comms during all the noise. Every type of modern equipment in top shape. Certified arborist. Gathered the team, had a safety briefing and plan of attack and boom all directions. Each team member on a different piece of equipment. I had trees trimmed, cut down and 30+ stumps ground. A year or so ago I hired D’s Trees to trim a property line tree overgrowth. I was worried a storm would cause significant damage to my home but didn’t have the budget for full tree removal and of course they’re not growing on my property, they just stretch westward over it. So I was in a tricky situation. Had a few quotes from guys in trucks no honest hardworking man would drive. They all quoted me based on how much I wanted removed as if it’s all just dollars and no sense to them. D’s Trees’ owner walked my property with me as I explained my tricky situation. We were so impressed by the work that this company did for us. Trimmed limbs in front, back and sides of house and side of garage. Took care of broken tree from Hurricane Sally. D’s Trees recently removed a large distressed pecan tree and an overturned stump from our backyard. A large crane was used from my driveway to remove the tree. The results were fantastic. There were no traces of the tree or machinery in my backyard when they were finished. The stump was ground so well that I was immediately able to plant a new tree in its place. I had two big oaks 70 feet high, precariously leaning over the house but D’s Trees had the solution. They tied chains to the tree canopy, cut the trunk and lifted the whole tree over the house, lowered into the street, chopped it up and hauled them away! Doug, owner of D’s Trees, is a retired US military helicopter pilot. I just hired him to cut a small-to-medium size tree. I was extremely satisfied with his service (even my neighbor who observed their work thought I hired “a top-notch company for the tree”). Here are the PROS and CONS.
PROS: 1) D’s Trees has both liability and worker’s compensation insurances. 2) All of the individuals on the site are paid employees of D’s Trees (they do not use subcontractors, nor do they use temporary helpers). 3) they work highly professionally with start-of-the-art equipment (for my tree removal project, they sent out as many as four vehicles). 4) their quotes are honest and reasonable and they provide written quotes with details.
CONS: I honestly cannot think of any. I attempted to hire them in the summer but was told they were too busy during the spring and the summer time to accept any new customers. In the end, D’s Trees is a company that everybody can safely count on for any tree projects. I am hiring them again for the second tree project.
**Update after one month: Less than a month after my first tree removal project, I had D’s Trees come again for a second, tree trimming project. I was highly satisfied with their work in this second project, as well. For tree trimming, they did not use any tree climbing spikes which would be bad for the tree. Instead, they used an articulated boom lift machine with which Doug easily reached any part of the tree to do the trimming work. Again, they provided both liability insurance against property damage and worker’s compensation insurance against personnel injury. Overall, I could not have been more satisfied with D’s Trees and will definitely hire them again for future tree work.
Update on May 02, 2024: I hired D’s Trees for the THIRD time on April 29, 2024 to remove a big tree in my backyard and trim two other trees. Because of my high satisfaction with their service back in 2019, I directly chose D’s Trees for this project without bothering to ask a second company (my neighbor also hired them just a couple of months ago and he evidently was satisfied with the work of D’s Trees, as well). The experience this time was as positive as it was five years ago. They did a fantastic job when also providing all three types of insurance for the work: (a) worker’s compensation, (b) commericial auto, and (c) general liability. Tyler was the certified arborist who led a team of workers to finish the job. Tyler and his team/crew were professional, polite, and finished the work with a high level of expertise. In summary, the D’s Trees is truly great at what they are doing. Will definitely hire them again in the future. I recommend D’s Trees highly to anyone who needs work on their trees.
